ANTIPSYCHOTIC EFFECTS ON TOP DOWN ATTENTIONAL CONTROL OF SENSORY PROCESSING IN PSYCHOSIS

The overall goal of this study is to understand the underlying biological processes that cause symptoms and cognitive problems associated with the psychotic disorders. View or download patients brochure in WORD format.

Who do we need for the study?

People ages 15-55 diagnosed with at least one of the following:

  • Schizophrenia

  • Schizoaffective disorder

  • Bipolar disorder or with psychotic features

  • Depression with psychotic features

    psychotic features: symptoms such as hallucinations, hearing voices or seeing things that others cannot

    OR

    People ages 28-48 with NO HISTORY of

  • Psychiatric disorders

  • Neurologic disorders

  • Problems with drugs or alcohol

    AND must have NOT completed college


    Participants will undergo clinical assessment, neuropsychological testing, a one-time blood-draw, EEG and fMRI testing.

    You will receive a confidential, no-cost, evaluation to see if you qualify to enter. If eligible, you will receive a full clinical assessment at no cost.

    Duration of study

    Two visits separated by one month. Each visit includes about 8 hours of testing.

    Compensation

    Up to a maximum of $350.00 plus $10 per day travel reimbursement
